Fundraisers for School

School leaders are often put in the position of deciding which groups and activities on campus are allowed to continue and which ones must be abandoned simply because there is not enough funding in their budget. However, using fundraisers for school clubs and activities is one simple way to make sure the groups are allowed to continue. The school leaders must be diligent in determining how much money they will need to continue and then move forward with methods of raising that money.

First, officials must task each group or organization within the school with the creation of a budget that they can stick to, not some unreachable number or a number that is so low as to be unrealistic. Real numbers that can get the group through the school year need to be determined.

Next, school leaders need to amass a listing of various fundraisers for school and how much money they can reasonably expect to generate from these. Most fundraising websites offer enough information to determine profit, while some fundraising websites, like Fun Pasta, offer an actual profit calculator. This calculator allows leaders to put in how much money they need to make and returns a number denoting how much pasta products will need to be sold to reach that number.

Leaders next have to take the ideas for fundraisers for school projects, the list of profitability and the amount of money needed by each group and create both a schedule for fundraising events and an outline of which groups will utilize which fundraising projects.

Dividing the projects should be a simple task. Each group is going to need to do more than one fundraiser and so there might be a rotation involved among the projects, breaking them up from semester to semester so as not to repeat the projects back to back.

Finally, the team leaders need to take all of this information and create a calendar or timeline that shows when each of the fundraisers for school groups will take place. It is important that projects not overlap in order to insure the best success. The period for each fundraiser should be short and not extended. This helps to keep the participants involved and not waiting for the last minute.

There are some projects that can be held simultaneously. These usually involve a sales product and a service product at the same time. For example, a carwash and bake sale can be held at the same time. In addition, a carwash or yard sale can be held while a catalog sale is being circulated. The two will not negatively affect each other.

On the other hand, a donut sale should not be held while a bake sale is being held by another group. The exception would be if they were being held in entirely different towns. Groups should not have to compete with each other to raise funds. Additionally, if possible, school leaders should make sure they are not hosting the same project that another school is having at the same time. Both schools would certainly lose out due to neither one of them having the full success that they deserve.
