Easy Fundraiser Ideas

PTAs and booster clubs know how difficult it can be to make their budget stretch far enough to cover the activities of the students. It would be simple enough to cancel the activities but this would lead to too much free time that can turn into disaster for many young people. These groups know the importance of supplementing their budget with fundraising projects. They also know that coming up with easy fundraiser ideas that are successful at raising the funds needed.

There are many different fundraising ideas that can be used to raise money. Researching the Internet and talking to other organizations will reveal more ideas than one could imagine. Some of the easiest are included here to start the journey to choosing the perfect, easy fundraiser.

Hold a 50/50 raffle. This type of raffle offers a prize that is half of the money collected. The best way to organize this is to determine how much money needs to be raised and how much each ticket needs to cost in order to raise double the amount of money needed. Once the tickets are sold the drawing is held for the prize. Fundraising doesn't get much simpler than this.

Product sales are usually easy fundraisers as long as the product chosen is one that is popular with the target audience. For example, if the target audience is younger people, a candy sale might be the perfect fundraising choice. On the other hand, if the target is the general community then a product that is used by most people would be a better choice. Fun Pasta is an example of a fundraising project that features a commonly used product, pasta.

Rummage sales have been popular ways for families to raise money for as long as people can remember. Using this same premise as a fundraiser takes the rummage sale to the next level. Volunteers agree to donate their yard sale items to the organization. The group then advertises their multi-family yard sale in as many places as possible, including social networks and Craig's List. These sites help to spread the word to everyone in the community and even those in neighboring communities. The number of people who love yard sales is simply amazing and hosting a large, multi-family yard sale as a fundraiser is an easy fundraising idea that can yield huge profits for the group.

Another of the easiest fundraiser ideas is an oldie but a goodie, the carwash. Everyone washes his or her car or at least everyone should. Holding a community carwash is one way to help everyone get his or her car washed while at the same time raising money for the club or organization. These fundraisers are fun for the participants and typically accept donations rather than charging a set price. The community tends to enjoy getting in on the action and many cars will pull in to the event for a car wash without having had prior knowledge that it was occurring.

Advertising for a car wash fundraiser is two-fold. First, there is publicity and advertising leading up to the fundraiser and then on the day of the fundraiser members of the group often carry posters and wave at passing cars. Many people only learn about the car wash as they are driving down the road. It makes them think about washing their car and many of these will turn in and get their cars cleaned while donating to the organization.

Easy fundraiser ideas vary and can be product sales or events that involve soapsuds and Saturday mornings. The easier the fundraiser is to organize and put into action the easier it is to enlist the help of the organizations members which in turn means easier money in the bank.
